Hatha Yoga Level 1 - English class with Maximilian

Hatha Yoga means creating and conserving energy. In this class you learn basic yoga postures (Asana) in a gentle and controlled way to build up your balance, stamina and strength, but also to stay concentrated and focussed throughout the lesson and beyond. The physical and mental parts of yoga go hand in hand and so we incorporate meditation and resting phases during the class in which you can give yourself the chance to feel the reactions of your own body and mind to the movements. By building the strength from within, you will get a better knowledge of your own capabilities and limitations.

about Maximilian:

My Yoga history started in the year 2017 in India when I got the chance to be introduced to my first simple exercises by a Yogi on a small beach in southern Goa. At that time I was unaware of the impact that this lesson would eventually have. In 2018 I came back to India and stayed for a whole year to look further into the subject and learn more about Yoga. 

Through my studies and research about Yoga I dove deeper into the practice and in January 2019 I successfully completed a 200h Yoga Teacher Training Course in Varkala, Kerala. In my class I do not only want to teach and pass on my knowledge, but also I want to learn a lot from other Yogis/Yoginis. 

For myself the philosophy of the Yoga Sutras by Patañjali plays a major role in practicing the Asana (physical exercises) and Pranayama (breathing exercises) as well as in the interactions with the world around me and with myself on an every day basis. Our thoughts are all too often filled by expectations, hopes and wishes, so that it can become very hard to do “nothing”. I would like this “nothing” to be everything during my class. Nothing being expected, nothing being hoped, nothing being wished. Nothing negative, nothing positive, nothing inbetween.
